Bad Rock is an all volunteer department, providing fire and initial EMS response to an area of 30 square miles. We have approximately 20 volunteer members who provide both fire and medical responses. [a district map, or a link to one would be good here] We have 2 stations, affectionately referred to as the North Hall and the South Hall. The North hall houses 4 apparatus, a structure engine, a wildand engine, a 2000 gallon water tender and a support van. The South Hall houses 2 apparatus, a structure engine and a water tender. We train on Tuesday evenings. The first Tuesday of the month is our EMS training night, and generally meets at the North Hall. The second Tuesday is our business meeting and also meets at the North Hall. The third and fourth Tuesdays are Fire training and generally meet at the South Hall.

As a rural department with a limited budget, we do everything we can to save money. Most of our vehicle and station maintenance is done by the volunteer members. Many members spend their own time and sometimes their own money to take advantage of outside educational opportunities, and bring new information and training back to the department.

We are bordered by Creston Fire to the south and Columbia Falls Fire to the northwest, and Hungry Horse Fire to the northeast. Our west border is the Flathead River, and on the east side we border state forest land.

In 2007 we improved our ISO rating from 8b to 7. ISO is a rating that determines how much home owners in our district pay on their home owner insurance. We aim improve it another level in the near future.
